Columbus Business First: Fresh Thyme continuing quick expansion

Dan Eaton, Staff Reporter at Columbus Business First, reported today on the rapid growth of specialty grocer, Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, in Central Ohio.  The Chicago-based grocer has a store open near Dublin and recently opened store in Worthington.  Two other Columbus-area locations are under construction in Westerville, and in Gahanna.

Sleep Outfitters relocates, expands in Athens, OH

Sleep Outfitters celebrated a grand reopening in their new location in Athens in the East State Street Shopping Center this past weekend.  The new 6,000 square foot freestanding store is located at 959 E. State St. in front of Lowe’s home improvement.  Andrew Feinblatt and Scott Saddlemire of OnSite Retail Group represented Sleep Outfitters in the new lease with Continental Properties.

Lexington, KY-based Innovative Mattress Solutions is the parent company of Sleep Outfitters, Mattress Warehouse and Mattress King.  The company operates over 155 stores across West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama.

Cincinnati Enquirer: Fresh Thyme opens first KY store in Newport

Emilie Eaton of the Cincinnati Enquirer reported on Sunday, January 24^th that Fresh Thyme opened their new store on Wednesday, January 27th at Newport Plaza in Newport, KY.  It’s the company’s first store in the state of Kentucky.  Eric Abroms of OnSite Retail Group in Blue Ash represented Fresh Thyme in the lease transaction.  Click the link below for the full story:

Shopping Centers Today: Aldi one of six ‘Top of the World’ retailers

In the cover story of the January 2016 edition of Shopping Centers Today, Steve McLinden highlights his top six retailers who have mastered international expansion and show no signs of slowing down.  As written by McLinden, there are some retailers, including Aldi, “that have consistently conquered foreign markets over the years, usually on the strength of clear brand identification, strong local partnerships, good old-fashioned homework and, sometimes, counterintuitive thinking.”  The grocery chain based in Germany has 1,400 stores in the U.S. and could add an additional 600 to that count by 2018.

OnSite Retail Group brokers sale in O’Bryonville Shopping District

Joshua M. Rothstein of Blue Ash, OH-based OnSite RetailGroup recently brokered the sale of the property located at 1979 Madison Road in the heart of Cincinnati’s historic O’Bryonville Shopping District.  Rothstein represented the seller, Me and Morrison, LLC, in the sale of the 1,750 square foot building to Treadway Gallery, Inc.  The property was the former home of Morrison & Me, an exclusively haute couture shoe store, that now operates at 2643 Erie Avenue in Hyde Park Square.  Treadway Gallery, Inc. has no immediate plans for the future of the building.
